About me

Hi, I’m Martin.

I like to think of myself as a Feeling Engineer:

  • Engineer because of my background in film and video engineering but also because our goal is to create something functional.

  • Feeling because I believe we are emotionally driven and by understanding how our work impacts others emotionally - we have the best chance of helping them understand our point of view.

The first thing I ask is:

“What is the purpose of the photos/videos.”

That answer influences every next decision.

For me, it's important we capture a real and honest expression because I believe that's what gives others the best chance to be able to relate to us.

Timeline

2024 | Started working with MBS Equipment, providing lighting and grip gear to feature productions such as: Vin Diesel’s Riddick 4, George Clooney’s The Department, Sylvester Stallone’s Cliffhanger 2 and Nicole Kidman’s Nine Perfect Strangers S2.

2023 | Dedicated full-time to my online content creation business Workout Philosophy. It functions as a platform for me to discuss issues I am passionate about as well as a creative outlet for video (composing, lighting, colour grading) and photography - check out the thumbnails over at www.martin-kadiev.com.

2022 |  Upgraded for extra performance and stability the entire IT infrastructure of growing Berlin-based VFX house; Sehsucht (storage, networking, virtual machines). Designed and facilitated the creation of a brand new server room from scratch (power, AC, fibre).

2021 | “1899” Netflix series shot in historic Babelsberg film park. I helped build and operate Europe’s biggest LED Volume. At the time we used 50 out of 70 NVIDIA A6000 cards in Europe and Epic Games release Unreal 4.27 as our shoot needed real-time water physics.

2020 | BEng First Class with Honours in Film and Video Production Engineering.

2019 | Camera, lighting, grip work as part of a professional training year in Singaporean-based video production house: onedash22. Grew fast and was rewarded with opportunities to DP and direct.

2016 | Worked in Framestore’s (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers) IT department; maintaining operation of their £500,000 in-house renderfarm.

What I do

  • As a film and video engineer by education, I believe the creative inspiration must be married with a craftsmanship-like technical understanding in order to achieve the desired result. Check out my dissertation.

  • Show your best self in a way that’s aligned to your brand and values. Available using the dynamic streets of Berlin or inside my home studio. Check out my work for examples.

  • I can teach you to become an independent content creator to help market your business. My goal is to bring you quickly up to speed on the technical fundamentals and help you design a strategy to make your journey effective and sustainable using my own experience of full-time content creation.
